Haha - so many days unblogged!

The snow has suuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked!!  Super cold weather kept it all around, and it's been a real misery getting around town, to the studio with dogs.  Just got back from walking them and they were covered in wet soot / salt.  Yuck.

Today as the first day I drove in two weeks.  So nice!!  I was irrationally nervous about where I would be able to park.  Found spaces easily.

I have been so triggered by Popville posts about spot saving.  Turns out everybody thinks if you were a hero and dug out your own car, for your own benefit, you therefore can claim the space as your own for days, and nobody dare use it, or they open themselves up to urine on the door handles and flat tires.  It's nuts.

Sure enough, there was a cooler saving a space on swann, and it took a lot of willpower not to set it aside.  Mind your own business, Dave?

This week I spent days avoiding drawing my one lingering commission (from Oct) because it was so daunting.  I tried hard in Dec to come up with something, but could never get there, so it's been the specter haunting me.  Every day/week I thought about it and somehow justify not working on it.  I finally had no justification, so I bucked down yesterday and actually got somewhere!  Like it so far, but more details need to be added, and an elusive caption.  But I'm well on my way which makes me happy.

I burned screens early in the week and have been slowly getting thru the prints on paper I planned to make with them.  They really take time.  Printing is a slooooow process for me.  I also have lots of wood prepped, so I'm making some on wood as well.  Much easier!

RANDOM:  just hauled in two wooden shelf/cabinets out of the cold/snow.  One has been out back in the trash since before the snow.  I checked it out as soon as I saw it, but thought no, not going to bother with it.  But every day it sits out there, and I see it from my balcony.  Then walking the ladies I saw another painted / crackled one by Paul's on T St, and again, I said NO, I'm not going to bother.

But then as I walked the dogs tonight, it came into my mind again, so I went back to see if it was there.  NO, I'm not going to bother with it - I said to myself a second time, and left it there again.

Back at my studio, after cleaning off the dogs, and having to take out trash that has sat outside my door all day, I decided my plan: I had to have both.

So I wrangled the one out back, out of the deep snow concrete, and brought it in.  Then marched over to T street, and hauled back the other.  Somehow I had to have them.  To sell, or take apart for wood?  Unsure.  But they were connected to each other, and had spirits that I couldn't ignore.  Haha, so strange, so Dave.
